FAITH S. - WHAT'S IN MY EYE?
Notes from the artist(s):
I painted a photo of my eye, but there are tentacles coming out of the eye. It's made from oil paint and it is 16 by 20 inches. At first, I was experimenting with fun camera angles and photos. I took this one of me holding my eye open and decided it would be an interesting subject. Of course, I wanted to add a twist to it. Why was I holding my eye open? Perhaps there was something in it? There comes the tentacles. This piece was experimenting with a cool idea.
FOUNDERS' PICK
LUCAS H. - DRESS
Notes from the artist(s):
My showcase piece, the dress one (dress_lucasharte.png), was one that I started with private lessons with my teacher, Josh Usmani, and was finished during one of his CIA classes. It was one of my first times working on something more realistic as opposed to the usual cartoons from my imagination. The model was from a photograph that I picked out with my instructor because of the interesting way the dress folded. I learned about drawing proportions, trying to make it look as accurate as possible. Looking at it now, for my first time ever doing a realistic human I'd say it turned out pretty well. The additional pieces are a portrait of my cat and a lighting study on a skull.

Cannon Irish Dance: Various Academic Schools - IF YOU'RE IRISH
Notes from the artist(s):
This piece "If You're Irish" was used to entertain during the St. Patrick's Day Season. We brightened the day for many nursing home residents after nearly 2 years of not being able to perform our usual show season.

ABIGAIL x. - Notturno Op. 54 No.4 by Edvard Grieg
Notes from the artist:
In this video I played Notturno Op. 54 No. 4. by Edvard Grieg. The music is about a mysterious night in Norway forest where you can hear the sounds of birds and the singing of nightingales. It helps to reflect my thoughts and refresh my emotions.
